A sculptural lace pattern reminiscent of ocean waves brings texture and movement to this hat. Instructions are given for several yarn weights, from sport to bulky weight, allowing you to knit this little lovely in your favourite yarn, no matter the gauge!

sizing	fits average adult head, 20-22" in circumference. Finished hat is very stretchy and soft, and can be blocked into a larger and slouchier shape if desired.
materials	sport / DK weight - 160 yds worsted / Aran weight - 130 yds chunky weight - 100 yds (samples shown in Blue Sky Alpacas Melange in '801', Classic Elite Fresco in '5322' , and Blue Sky Alpacas Worsted Hand Dyes in '2003')
gauge and suggested needles	sport / DK - US#4 / 3.5mm and US#6 / 4.0mm needles, to achieve 22 sts / 4" worsted / Aran - US#6 / 4.0mm and US#7 / 4.5mm needles, to achieve 19 sts / 4" chunky weight - US#7 / 4.5mm and US#8 / 5.0mm needles, to achieve 16 sts / 4" (gauge in stockinette stitch using larger needles); circular and or double pointed needles as desired for knitting in the round.
notes	The pattern includes both charts and written instructions to represent lace pattern. Hat is knit in the round from the brim to the crown.
